B. Framework for answering questions

Universal Object Description Formula

3-sentence version (for 40–60 words):

  • It’s something that + basic function.
  • I usually use it when + situation.
  • It + positive effect / feeling.

Sample answers:

It’s something that helps me keep track of time during school.
I usually wear it when I’m in lessons or moving between classes.
It keeps me organised and makes me feel more in control of my daily schedule.

Formula for People & Animals

3-sentence version (40–60 words)

  1. I usually + interaction with them.
  2. They make me feel + feeling, and the whole atmosphere feels + adjective.
  3. Whenever I spend time with them, I walk away feeling + positive effect.

Sample answers:

I usually talk to my teachers after class when I need help with my subjects.
They make me feel more confident, and the whole atmosphere feels quite supportive.
Whenever I spend time with them, I walk away feeling clearer about my work and less stressed.

Formula for Daily Life & Activities

3-sentence version (40–60 words)

  1. I usually + activity at + time, and it’s part of my routine.
  2. I enjoy it as it makes me feel + adjective.
  3. It also helps me + positive effect, so I try to keep this habit even under constraints.

Sample answers:

I usually study or finish homework in the evening, and it’s part of my routine.
I enjoy it because it makes me feel productive.
It also helps me stay on top of my subjects, so I try to keep this habit even when I’m tired.

C. Practice

Practice across topics column 1 to 5, row after row, depending on the time you have.

First set of 10 –

  1. Teachers — Do you get along well with your teachers?
  2. Watch — Do you usually wear a watch when you go out?
  3. Evening Time — What do you normally do in the evening?
  4. Outer Space and Stars — Are you interested in looking at the stars?
  5. Dreams and Ambition — What was your dream job when you were a child?
  6. Sports Team — Do you support any sports teams?
  7. Cars — Do you like travelling by car?
  8. Sports Programs — Do you often watch sports programs on TV?
  9. Views — Do you enjoy looking at nice views when you travel?
  10. Music — What kind of music do you usually listen to?
